More than 300 cannabis plants have been seized and a man has been arrested in two non-connected raids at crop houses in Melbourne’s east and southeast.

Caulfield detectives raided two homes on McMillian St, Clayton, and Ellen St, Springvale, about 5.40pm on Wednesday as part of an ongoing investigation.

They seized 65 cannabis plants across the two homes and arrested a 50-year-old Springvale man in connection to their raids.

The man has been charged with alleged cannabis cultivation and theft offences and bailed to appear at Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court on November 15.

The incident came after Prahran detectives dismantled two crop houses in a non-connected raid in Glen Iris about 8.30am on Tuesday.

They found about 250 plants across two Malvern Rd homes, which they seized along with growing equipment.

Prahran detective Senior Sergeant Tim Moreland said no arrests had been made and police were continuing their investigations.

“We seek the public’s continued assistance by contacting police if they observe or hear any suspicious behaviour such as the covering or blacking out of windows, strong plant smells and unusual vehicle or pedestrian movement,” he said.

“Premises such as this one can often have overloaded electrical systems therefore exposing not only any occupants but others to inherent risks.”

Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
