A man has been arrested in the CBD after a police pursuit throughout several Melbourne suburbs, which also saw two cop cars allegedly rammed.

Officers first spotted a white 2015 BMW X6 Wagon with allegedly stolen number plates on Warrigal Rd about 9.45pm on Tuesday.

Police believe the car was allegedly stolen during an aggravated burglary in Burwood East on Monday.

The car drove through parts of Melbourne’s east and southeast during the evening including Narre Warren, Rowville, Dandenong South, and Glen Waverley.

It then headed towards the city and police called in the air wing for assistance, before it came to a stop on Domain Rd in the CBD about midnight.

Two police cars were allegedly rammed as the BMW tried to perform a U-turn on the road, and officers then arrested two people a short time later.

The driver, a 30-year-old Tullamarine man, was taken to hospital following the incident, where he remains under police guard.

A passenger in the car, a 21-year-old Collingwood woman, has been released pending further inquiries.

According to police, no one was injured in the incident.

Any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage can phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
