Bradley Harris fronts court over e-scooter incident outside the MCG

An e-scooter rider allegedly struck an 81-year-old Collingwood fan outside the MCG, knocked her unconscious but didn’t stop to check on her.

A man who allegedly struck a die-hard Collingwood fan and great grandmother with an e-scooter in East Melbourne has made a brief court appearance.

No pleas were taken when Bradley Harris, 46, appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court via a video link on Wednesday for a mention.

Mr Harris is facing charges of reckless conduct endangering serious injury, recklessly causing injury and unlawful assault.

Benalla great-grandmother Jessie Hatch, 81, was walking towards the Jolimont railway station from the MCG when she was allegedly confronted by Mr Harris riding an e-scooter about 11pm on May 3.

As Ms Hatch walked away, she was allegedly struck from behind by the e-scooter which caused her to fall to the ground and lose consciousness.

Mr Harris allegedly did not stop and was chased by a passer-by. Collingwood officials penned a card in which it wished Ms Hatch a speedy recovery and that the club looked forward to welcoming her when she was ready.

Mr Harris will return to court on June 6 when pleas are expected to be entered.
