A club aimed at getting older people to join others in their local community is starting in Stonnington.
The Armadale Probus Club is now on the hunt for members ahead of its inaugural meeting on February 7.
Probus South Pacific membership development officer Joshua Stojanovic said the area was ripe for a new club.
“For this one in particular we looked at the Census data and not only are there a lot of retirees in the general area, but all the closest clubs are either single-gender or full, so we knew there was opportunities locally,” he said.
“We sourced a good venue and got a local who used to be on our board of directors to run the event and help get the club on its feet.”
Probus clubs are self-run and generally gather monthly, allowing retirees to meet other people and be part of a social club.
