HUNDREDS will pay their respects at Kew RSL’s Anzac Remembrance March this Sunday to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
The procession, which starts at the RSL, will be attended by veterans, military personnel, politicians, Boroondara Council representatives and students.
Students from Trinity Grammar and Gennazano will also take part in the march, as will the Camberwell Grammar Cadet contingent and local scouts.
Wreath-laying ceremonies will be held at the Kew Wall of Remembrance in Cotham Rd and the Great War Monument at the corner of Cotham Rd and High St. After the march, a ceremony will be held at the Holy Trinity Church in High St.
Kew RSL committee member Peter Cameron said at least 250 people were expected to come along to mark the centenary of the Gallipoli landing.
“We’re hoping for a really strong turn out, so that we can take over the whole area,” Mr Cameron said.
“The march has always been well supported by the community and being the 100-year anniversary, we’d expect a lot of interest.”
The march starts at Kew RSL, corner of Charles St and Cotham Rd, at 1.15pm on Sunday.
