A young South Australian barber returning home from a Melbourne holiday with his wife has been killed in a horror crash.
The “lovebirds” had almost made it across the South Australian border when the dark grey convertible Peugeot 308 lost control and came off the Western Highway near the intersection with Leeor Rd at Lillimur about 2.30pm Wednesday.
The driver Milad Jamshidi, 28, sadly died at the scene while his wife Bibi, 26, was thrown from the vehicle after it rolled.
She was flown to the Alfred Hospital in a serious condition.
Close friend Mustafa Razz said he was “lost for words”.
“It is very heartbreaking news,” he said.
“Not only for me but for the whole community.”
He said Milad was a “very polite gentleman” who had a “heart of a god”.
“Milad was a joyful and sweet young man,” Mr Razz said.
“It is a huge loss for all of us. I can’t imagine what it would be like for his wife and other family members.
“I pray that he resst well and I pray for strength and patience for his family and loved ones.
Mr Razz said Mr Jamshidi, originally from Iran, owned a barber shop in Adelaide and had been married for less than five years.
The pair had travelled to Melbourne for a short holiday.
