Two police officers injured in chase gone wrong Katandra

Two police officers attempting to arrest a suspect armed with a gun near Shepparton have been rushed to hospital after crashing their car while pursuing the man.

A police chase in the state’s north has ended in disaster with two officers being rushed to hospital after losing control of their car, while a suspect remains on the run.

Police were attempting to arrest a man, who had approached officers with a firearm in Katandra, 20 minutes north of Shepparton, before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.

Police gave chase, however a short time later the officers lost control of their squad car and rolled onto Creighton Rd in Katandra West.

The offender then stopped at a residence in Youanmite before swapping vehicles.

He remains on the run

Paramedics attended the scene at around 12.30pm and treated both officers for minor injuries before taking to Goulburn Valley hospital for observation.
