Shepparton’s Sammi-Jo Ramsay charged with alleged theft, driving offences

A Shepparton woman failed to appear in court despite facing charges for allegedly stealing two vehicles, cattle equipment, makeup, firewood and money.

A magistrate has issued a warrant for the arrest of a Shepparton woman who is accused of eight counts of theft, a court has heard.

Sammi-Jo Ramsay did not appear at Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

The 33-year-old has been charged with stealing a Toyota HiLux from East Coast Rentals and a Mitsubishi Triton from Fred’s Interstate Transport on February 3 and 4 last year in Shepparton and Orrvale.

She was also charged with reckless conduct endangering death by driving at dangerous speeds and failing to stop at red traffic signals on February 4.

In Shepparton, Ms Ramsay allegedly stole $950 in August and trespassed on a residential property in December 2024.

Also in August, Ms Ramsay is accused of intentionally damaging property including a garage door, door frames, plaster walls and wardrobes and entering a private residence under construction without authority.

In Craigieburn, she allegedly stole makeup from Woolworths, valued at $331, in January 2023.

Ms Ramsay allegedly stole tool boxes in Eaglehawk in July 2021 valued at $3000 and dishonestly assisted in the retention of stolen goods on behalf of another.

Two months earlier, Ms Ramsay was accused of stealing stock and building equipment including a cattle crush, ramp, fencing, steel mesh and roofing valued at $22,5000.

She is also charged with allegedly stealing a $400 air compressor and $1500 worth of firewood.

She is facing one charge of possessing methylamphetamine, three counts of allegedly failing to appear on bail, allegedly driving while disqualified four times and four counts of allegedly committing an offence while on bail.

The court heard if Ms Ramsay had appeared it might have been possible to resolve most matters and look at getting an assessment for a corrections order.

Magistrate Amina Bhai issued a warrant for Ms Ramsay’s arrest.
