A Flora Hill man and Kyabram woman have been arrested after allegedly crashing into a police car and leading officers on a chase on the Midland Highway.
Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit detectives arrested the pair on Thursday afternoon.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said a black Holden Commodore wagon was observed driving erratically on High St in Shepparton and police attempted to intercept it at Rowe St about 3.15pm.
“The Holden allegedly continued north on Corio St, before doing a U-turn and crashing into a police vehicle,” she said.
“There were no injuries and minor damage to the car.”
Police followed the vehicle through Kialla and Mooroopna, then pursued it along the Midland Highway.
The vehicle came to a stop on Fenaughty Rd in Cooma.
The spokeswoman said the male driver and female passenger were arrested and taken into custody.
“The 28-year-old Flora Hill man is being interviewed and is expected to be charged with offences relating to the police collision and pursuit,” she said.
“The 40-year-old Kyabram woman was released pending further inquiries.”
