Shepparton Magistrates’ Court: Brayden Collie faces theft charges
A Shepparton man allegedly went on a crime spree stealing bank cards and cash from cars in order to pay off his drug debt.

A Shepparton man allegedly stole bank cards and cash from cars to pay off his drug debts, a court has heard.
Brayden Collie appeared at the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday and on theft and fraud charges.
Court documents read by prosecutor Senior Constable Luke Lund allege the 27-year-old got into a car and took a wallet and bank cards on May 20 this year.
The next morning Collie went to a Mooroopna service station and allegedly purchased two energy drinks and other items valued at $100 with the card and a $100 gift card from a Mooroopna supermarket.
On another occasion in August, Collie allegedly spent $48 on the stolen card at the Shepparton North McDonald’s.
The next morning Collie entered 7 Eleven on Numurkah Rd and allegedly spent $52 on the card again.
On October 8, Collie allegedly drove into a caravan park in Kialla and parked the car.
Police allege Collie tried to open car doors at the park and entered an unlocked Toyota and stole a credit card from a wallet, then continued to try other vehicles.
Collie allegedly entered an unlocked Isuzu station wagon and found $600 and $3000 in US dollars.
Collie later allegedly made three more purchases totalling $166 on another stolen card.
Collie was arrested and taken to the Shepparton police station on October 8.
Magistrate Alexandra Burt adjourned the matter to November.
