Police arrest three people after air wing chase through northeast Victoria

A Mooroopna man, along with a Shepparton woman and man have been arrested after driving “erratically” in a cross-border police chase.

Three people have been arrested after a cross-border, hours-long police pursuit in northeastern Victoria and New South Wales.

Police first spotted a stolen Nissan Pulsar on Yale Court in North Shepparton about 8.30am on Wednesday.

With assistance from the air wing, the vehicle was followed through Shepparton, Echuca, Moama and Barmah in New South Wales.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman said the air wing found the vehicle in Nathalia and several attempts to stop the vehicle were made in Shepparton and Mooroopna.

“The vehicle continued to drive erratically through Shepparton before it was dumped on McCracken St,” she said.

“Police located and arrested a 19-year-old Mooroopna man, 20-year-old Shepparton man and 18-year-old Shepparton woman following a short foot pursuit on Wilmot Rd.”

The Shepparton woman was charged with theft of motor vehicle and drug related offences and bailed to appear in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on October 27.

The spokeswoman said the men are being interviewed and the investigation remains ongoing.
