Numurkah’s Meraki Hair ‘n Beauty Salon named the Goulburn Valley’s best hairdresser

A salon in a small country town near Shepparton has been crowned the Goulburn Valley’s best hairdresser a day after it celebrated its third birthday.

A salon in Numurkah, near Shepparton, is celebrating its third birthday in the biggest way after being crowned Coulburn Valley’s best hairdresser.

Tanya Harrison and her team at Meraki Hair ‘n Beauty Salon celebrated its third birthday on Friday.

A day earlier Ms Harrison was named Goulburn Valley’s number one hairdresser after a tightly tested competition.

To say the award was a shock to Ms Harrison was an understatement.

“This is amazing,” she said.

“I honestly don’t know what to say, I’d love to thank everyone who voted for us.”

Meraki Hair ‘n Beauty Salon’s team is made up of five hairdressers including senior stylists Tanya, Tegan Nunn, Carol Siermans and Joanne Viney and first-year apprentice Tracey Crocker.

“I’m very lucky to work with a great group of girls,” Ms Harrison said.

“They’re always eager to learn and try different things. I’m very fortunate to have on my team.

“Everyone has their own strengths which is fantastic. Tegan is our long hair expert while Jo and Carol usually deal with our older clients.

“I’m known for doing the more elaborate hairstyles.”

Ms Harrison said she was fortunate to have committed customers — some who even come from out of town.

“Our customers have always been very supportive of what we do,” she said.

“Without them we wouldn’t be where we are today.”

Meraki Hair ‘n Beauty Salon is located at 48 Melville Street in Numurkah.
