A country pub known for its live music and mini golf course is after a new owner.
The Railway Hotel, situated on the Goulburn Valley Highway in Murchison East, has recently hit the market, with an asking price of $950,000
It’s the first time the pub has been on the market since 2017.
The Railway Hotel is known for its prominent location, making it a “permanent feature” of the Goulburn Valley area.
With a recently renovated bistro, kitchen and public bar, as well as a TAB and pool table, the Railway Hotel presents an “outstanding opportunity” for a new operator to expand and grow the “multiple income streams the hotel has to offer”.
Paul Golding purchased the pub in 2017, renovating the public bar to suit the hotel’s theme.
Mr Golding couldn’t be happier with his experience owning the Railway, and reminiscised on a famous opening day.
“The place was rancid (before we renovated it), there would’ve been one thousand people in the beer garden throughout the day, it was amazing for a humble little country pub”.
Live music plays a major role in the Railway Hotel’s business — including cover bands such as Gold Chisel.
Mr Golding’s favourite night was when classic Australian band Mental As Anything played.
“It was an unbelievable night”.
The pub has an “enormous” beer garden, which creates “the perfect atmosphere” for live music.
Railway Hotel visitor Leanne Corbett made special mention of the beer garden.
“Sitting in the beer garden on a beautiful day is perfect”.
Mary-Lou Robertson left this review regarding the wonderful music scene at the hotel.
“Wonderful show (John Farnham tribute), great music, great crowd, great service, staff cheerful”.
The Railway Hotel has an upstairs residence which would enable the new owners to live onsite.
