A motorbike rider has been flown to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a horror crash in Shepparton.

A motorbike rider has been flown to hospital following a horror crash in Shepparton on Monday afternoon.

A police spokesman said a motorbike and a car collided on the corner of Maude and Swallow streets about 2.10pm.

Paramedics treated a man, believed to be in his 40s, at the scene for multiple injuries.

He was flown to hospital with life-threatening injuries in a critical condition.

Victoria Police said the driver of the car stopped at the scene and was not injured.
