A man has died in palliative care after he was allegedly attacked outside a Mooroopna supermarket.

UPDATE JUNE 6: A man has died in palliative care after he was allegedly attacked outside a supermarket in northern Victoria.
Emergency services were called to a supermarket on McLennan St just after 7pm on May 22 to reports of an assault.
The 46-year-old Mooroopna man was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with life threatening injuries — including a brain bleed and a skull fracture — but died on Monday.
Police were told the two men appeared to briefly converse with one another inside the supermarket before 19-year-old Matthew Atkinson allegedly punched the 46-year-old in the head and the body.
Paramedics and police both attended the scene.
Detectives charged Mr Atkinson, from Shepparton, with intentionally causing serious injury in circumstances of gross violence, intentionally causing serious injury, recklessly causing serious injury, assaulting, kicking, trafficking cannabis, possessing cannabis, and dealing with property suspected of being the proceeds of crime.
The Homicide Squad will now lead the investigation, and all charges will be reviewed.
Mr Atkinson faced court last Friday where he was refused bail.
He will return to court in October.
EARLIER, MAY 24: A man is fighting for life after an alleged serious assault in Mooroopna on Monday night.
Police are investigating the alleged assault which happened at a Woolworths in Mooroopna just after 7pm.
Emergency services were called to the supermarket on McLennan St after two men began fighting.
Police were told the two men appeared to briefly converse with one another inside the supermarket before one of the men was allegedly assaulted.
Paramedics and police both attended the scene.
Police blocked off the scene while paramedics treated one male on the scene.
A 46-year-old Mooroopna man was airlifted to Royal Melbourne Hospital by air ambulance in a critical condition with upper body injuries about 9pm.
A police spokesperson said the man sustained suspected life-threatening injuries.
The Royal Melbourne Hospital confirmed on Tuesday morning the man remained in a critical condition.
The other man involved is yet to be found by police.
It is believed both parties are known to each other.
