Ilknur Caliskan, alleged husband murderer, has medical records approved for release in court

A woman who allegedly stabbed her husband to death at a couple’s camping retreat has had an application to release her medical records heard in court.

A woman charged with stabbing her husband to death at a couple’s camping retreat has had an application to release her medical records approved by a magistrate.

Ilknur Caliskan, 46, and her husband Serdar, 50, were camping near Clonbinane when she allegedly stabbed him on September 30, 2023.

The matter heard in the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday was a special mention to release Ms Caliskan’s medical records.

Himangi Ticku, representing Ms Caliskan, asked the court to approve the release of her medical records.

Ms Caliskan did not appear in court.

Connor Rattray, representing the office of public prosecutions. also requested that the prosecution receive the accused’s medical records.

Magistrate Simon Zebrowski approved the release of Ms Caliskan’s medical records.

Emergency services were called to a vehicle in remote bush on Spur Rd near Clonbinane, north of Melbourne, at 11.30pm on September 30 where they found a seriously injured Mr Caliskan who later died at the scene.

Ms Caliskan was arrested on scene and charged with murder the following afternoon on September 31.

Ms Caliskan will face a committal mention on March 12 in the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court.
