Dylan Norman pleads guilty to killing Caleb Puttyfoot in Benalla hit and run in August 2023
A Benalla man left a much loved teenage boy for dead after hitting him with his ute and fleeing the scene in a shocking hit and run.

A Benalla killer driver who left a defenceless teenager for dead after hitting him with his car is headed to the Shepparton County Court.
Dylan Norman, 24, was due to face a committal hearing but his lawyer announced that he would be pleading guilty to four charges.
Norman hit 16-year-old Caleb Puttyfoot on August 4, 2023 with a four-wheel-drive ute.
He was arrested and charged on August 7.
Norman’s lawyer Glenn Cooper told the court that the matter was resolved late on June 11 and that he would be pleading guilty to four charges, including dangerous driving causing death and failing to render assistance.
Mr Puttyfoot was flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital from the crash site on Bridge St West, Benalla, with life-threatening injuries, including brain damage.
Mr Puttyfoot died nine days later.
The teenager was remembered at a funeral service in Benalla in September.
The 23-year-old will have to report every Friday to the Benalla police station, as per his previous bail conditions.
Magistrate Simon Zebrowski committed Norman to face the Shepparton County Court on September 23 at 9.30am.
