A Numurkah couple accused of horrific sex crimes against children have been slapped with more charges.

The couple fronted Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on September 24 where their lawyers filed a joint application for an adjournment as “further charges had been filed” by police.

Prosecutor Debra Coombes told the court the charges had only been filed on September 16 due to a “further hard drive being discovered”.

Ms Coombes told the court that the matter was now finalised and there were no further charges to be filed or amended.

It was not read out in court what the new charges the pair face were.

The pair’s alleged offending began in 2018, with the man accused of producing child abuse material on multiple occasions, masturbating over a sleeping child’s head and filming sexual acts with a child.

The man, who appeared from Hopkins Correctional Centre, was also charged with allowing a dog to sexually penetrate his co-accused partner.

The woman, who appeared from Dame Phyllis Frost Centre, was accused of sexually penetrating a child, filming sexual acts with a child as well as intentionally producing child abuse material.

Magistrate Olivia Trumble adjourned the couple’s matter to November 12 at the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court.

Neither the man or woman made an application for bail.

The pair were charged by Wangaratta Sexual Abuse and Child Abuse Investigation team detectives at the beginning of 2024 and have been in custody since.
