Punters and casual racegoers flocked to the foothills of the Victorian Alps on Sunday for the Mansfield Cup, despite constant rainfall and flood warnings across the state.
The Mansfield Cup is an iconic event, headlined by the picnic racing on offer.
Racegoers were moved into a big marquee, where the DJ was set up to shelter from the rain.
With heavy rainfall across the state, punters could have been forgiven for not showing up, but instead they came with beaming smiles and stoic hearts.
Fashions on the field went ahead despite the weather, with those of all ages looking fantastic in their outfits.
Mansfield is roughly 3 and a half hours from Melbourne, and is the gateway to the iconic Mt Buller.
Mansfield hosts two meetings each year, on Melbourne Cup Day and the cup meeting in January.
The Mansfield Cup is a picnic meeting, or a ‘non-TAB’ meeting.
