Loved ones and friends of a man described a “gem of a person” will come together at a funeral service on the weekend.
Ankush Sharma, who was a farrier and a father of two, died on February 3 in a motorcycle crash in Craigieburn.
Mr Sharma’s brother-in-law, Shubham Sharma, has organised a GoFundMe page to raise money that will go towards the funeral service and to support the education of young children.
“We can help by raising funds to assist the family in fulfilling their wishes, supporting the cremation ceremony in Australia and also help two children aged six and two to help them to have education their father always wanted to have,” Mr Sharma said.
“In this time of immense grief, we can come together, not just in mourning, but in a tide of compassion that lifts their families above the depths of despair.”
Mr Sharma said every contribution was a beacon of hope and a hand reaching out to steady people “grappling with unimaginable loss”.
“Let us honour their memory with kindness, with a collective show of strength that reflects the vibrant lives they led,” he wrote.
“Together, we can help navigate the storm clouds of sorrow, ensuring that love, not loss, is their lasting legacy.
“Please, donate generously, and let us be a source of unwavering support in the face of this devastating tragedy.”
The GoFundMe — which was created less than 24 hours ago — has already raised more than $8000.
The funeral for Ankush will be held at the Bunurong Memorial in Dandenong South at 10.30am on Saturday.
