Federal election 2022: Dan Tehan expected to win seat of Wannon

The Liberal MP who has represented Wannon for more than a decade is set to retain his seat.

Liberal MP Dan Tehan is set to win the seat of Wannon, leading by a 9.23 percent margin at 8.30pm.

It was previously a marginal seat however has been held by Liberal since 1955.

The candidates included Gilbert Wilson (Labor), Independents Alex Dyson and Graham Garner, Hilary McAlister (Greens), Ronnie Graham (One Nation), Craige Kensen (United Australia) and Amanda Mead (Liberal Democrats).

Wannon is a safe Liberal electorate in the western Victoria.

It includes areas such as Hamilton, Ararat, Portland, Port Fairy, Warrnambool, Port Campbell, Camperdown, Colac and Lorne.

It is Victoria’s second largest electorate.
