Ex-lawyer Pat Lennon declared bankrupt in Federal Court
A former high-profile lawyer known for defending the likes of Danny Nikolic and Mick Gatto has been declared bankrupt in the Federal Court.

A former lawyer known for defending the likes of former star jockey Danny Nikolic and underworld figure Mick Gatto has been declared bankrupt.
The Federal Court on Tuesday ordered that Pat Lennon’s estate be sequestered under the Bankruptcy Act of 1966.
The court has also ordered that the applicants costs - a Melbourne couple - be paid from his bankrupt estate.
According to documents, National Judicial Registrar Jacinta Ellis declared the date of bankruptcy as May 24.
Proceedings were first brought against Lennon on April 29, according to Federal Court documents.
It is unclear whether Lennon still owns any property.
Lennon has a hearing on Thursday in the County Court to decide whether a finding of guilt against him for possessing methamphetamines will be overturned.
The former lawyer, who grew up in the Gippsland town of Moe, was found guilty in January of possessing 11g of ice after he was arrested by police in South Yarra, but he was not convicted by Magistrate Brett Sonnet and was instead handed a 12-month good behaviour bond.
Lennon’s lawyer Dermot Dann told the court last week his client was the victim of a “stitch up”.
Lennon handed in his legal practising certificate last year amid an investigation into him by the Victorian Legal Services Commissioner.
