A self-employed Yarraville tradie has gone on a anger-fuelled text message spree that included threatening to kill a woman and her dog, and sending a naked image of her to her stepfather.
Daniel Travis Fiddler appeared before the Ringwood Magistrates’ Court from custody on Monday and pleaded guilty to threatening the woman.
On January 20, 2024, Fiddler sent a naked image and video of a woman while she was having a medical episode to her stepfather along with a text message.
“I’ll end the junkie,” the message read.
“I’ll end up killing her.”
Fiddler’s text message spree continued when he directly reached out to the woman.
He threatened to “skull f--k” her puppy and called her a “sneaky dog wh--e.”
Fiddler, who installs fences and garage doors, said he took the naked image and sent it to the stepfather in an attempt to get her help and to protect himself if anything was to happen.
His lawyer said taking the image was a “poor choice”.
Magistrate Jason Ong accepted the image and video was taken to protect himself but he should not have distributed that image.
Fiddler was released from custody on Monday after spending 34 days in pre-sentence detention.
He was also sentenced to a 12-month community corrections order, which includes 80 hours of unpaid community work and treatment for his substance abuse.
