Busy food delivery drivers are being targeted by police for leaving keys in cars as online order spike during the coronavirus lockdown
Uber Eats and other food delivery companies drivers have increasingly been pulling up outside restaurants to pick up an order and leaving their car running and doors unlocked while they run in to grab the food.
Knox highway patrol Leading Senior Constable Adam Pettett said the food delivery drivers park and run into Westfield Knox Ozone leaving vehicles running in a no-standing zone.

“We book them,” Sen-Constable Pettett said.
He said it was illegal to leave a car unattended with keys in the ignition and running.
“You have to be within 3m of a car that is running, that’s as far as you can be for a car,” Sen-Constable Pettett said.
He said truck drivers were also being targeted during patrols for leaving keys in the cab with the doors unlocked.
