Parents clogging up streets near a Monash high school are causing traffic chaos for residents.
Those living in the streets opposite Mt Waverley Secondary College’s junior campus have to deal with cars parked on both sides — even though one side is meant to be no standing — with some parents resorting to parking across driveways.

Marianne Way and Simpson Drive are worst affected, with Jacqueline Rd also copping increased traffic.
Adrian McVeigh, who has lived in the area all his life, said it was “out of control”.
“I couldn’t actually get out of my drive on numerous occasions,” he said.
“The other day was the catalyst — a teacher was standing in the middle of the road holding up traffic as the kids walked across the road … and blocked the whole road off.
“It was out of control. There were cars going around him … it was just chaos.”
Unsurprisingly, the morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up times are the worst, but the angst is not restricted to just weekdays.
Monash Leader understands a course is run at the campus every weekend.
“It is a seven-day-a-week issue,” Mr McVeigh said.
“What if an ambulance needed to get down here.
“We have to live in this area, we’re all frustrated by it.”
Monash Council Mayor Shane McCluskey said he was aware there was increased traffic around the school on weekends.
“Where parking is permitted adjacent to the school there are some locations with short-term parking for drop off/pick-up purposes and no stopping restrictions for road safety and traffic movement,’’ he said.
“During the day there are right turn restrictions in place on to Stephensons Rd from Lechte and Gordon roads to minimise delays for traffic leaving the area.”
He said the council has run 46 patrols around the school since July 1, with 15 on the weekend, resulting in 77 fines being issued.
Mt Waverley Secondary College did not respond to Monash Leader’s request for comment.
