A MUCH-LOVED eastern suburbs sports bar and party venue has been reborn as a James Squire brewhouse.

A MUCH-LOVED sports bar and party venue in the eastern suburbs has been reborn as a James Squire brewhouse.

The Rogue Squire has opened at the Wheelers Hill Hotel as a collaboration between the brewer and venue owner ALH group.

It’s a sister venue to Frankston’s The Cheeky Squire, which opened in June 2017 at the site of the former Daveys Nightclub.

Manager Emma Piddington previously managed Daveys and said she had come full circle with her new opportunity.

“The area was screaming out for a nice venue to come to, and it was definitely time for an upgrade with this hotel,” she said.

Ms Piddington said the new venue was similar to its Frankston counterpart but had a slightly bigger focus on full service dining.

It boasts nine James Squire beers and a cider on tap, while menu options range from steaks, pizzas and calamari to a duck risotto and a vegan coconut curry.
