Choosing the MVP and All-Star Five in the Big V Championship Women’s Division won’t be an easy task as we reveal our top players of 2023.

What an outstanding season of Big V Basketball.

With the Championship Division Women’s grand finals this weekend, we’ve broken down the top players of the season.

Here’s who made the list and who is the best?

Dyani Ananiev, Wyndham

The Victorian representative has enjoyed a standout season for the competition powerhouse. Ananiev averaged 19.23ppg and was one of the league’s leading three-point shooters.

Ida Andersson, Sunbury

Has impressed during the last two years with the Jets. Andersson again finished as her side’s leading scorer.

Amy Baum, Bulleen

Doesn’t have to score big to have an impact in games. Baum was a leading creative force for the Boomers throughout the season.

Sarae Beveridge, McKinnon

Beveridge was one of the most impressive shooters off the bench this season, shooting a league best 43.75 per cent from deep.

Olivia Bontempelli, Bulleen

A consistent on both ends of the floor throughout the season. Bontempelli is the Boomers leading scorer.

Alicia Carline, Sherbrooke

The league’s best rebounder with a whopping 15.59 per game. Carline created plenty of second chance points for herself and her teammates. Shooting over 50 per cent made her an even more impressive player. The league’s leading shot blocker too.

Annabel Deerbon, Bulleen

Deerbon has offered the Boomers with a little bit of everything on both ends of the floor. She averaged 12.43ppg and 2.22 steals.

Holly Dolny, Wyndham

Dolny was a consistent three-point threat off the bench for the title favourites this season. Also capable of having an impact on defence.

Dimitra Gkizani, Sunbury

The Greek import has been one of the best defensive players in the league this season. She’s also been more than capable on offence.

Briana Gray, McKinnon

Gray finished as her team’s leading scorer for the season with 15.14ppg. She was also McKinnon’s leading rebounder.

Tegan Hindle, Hume

Hindle often had a strong impact off the bench for the Broncos, becoming one of the league’s best for steals.

Haille Nickerson, Pakenham

The Warriors import put together another impressive season. She was her team’s main offensive weapon as the only player to average double figures.

Amanda Paschal, Wyndham

One of the leading players in the competition during her second year with Wyndham. Paschal continued to show her dominant scoring ability throughout the season.

Porche Poole, Sherbrooke

The American import has been brilliant for the Suns this season, finishing as the league’s leading scorer with 24.14ppg. Porsche was also a strong playmaker.

Emily Suckling, McKinnon

Suckling was McKinnon’s leading playmaker this season but was also capable of putting up big scoring numbers herself.

Eleni Valos, Camberwell

Nominated for the competition’s All Star Five, Valos enjoyed a consistent season where she threatened with a double-double every night.
