Plans have been released for a new 10-storey office building in the heart of Box Hill.
Whitehorse City Council began advertising the 30 Cambridge St planning application on August 23.
The plans include a 10-storey office building with a ground floor restaurant, 42 basement carparking spaces and 38 bicycle spaces.
The tower sits two blocks away from Box Hill Central, which has its own sky rise makeover planned, and in the heart of the Box Hill activity centre.
The proposed office building will sit across from multiple two-storey homes on Cambridge St.
Nearby resident Muhammed Kudav said he expected big developments in his area but the construction of a tower this large would be a “massive inconvenience” for residents.
“There is already not enough parking, so while construction is going on it will get worse,” he said.
“There is also the construction noise.”
Mr Kudav said he did not have a problem with an office building being built but that a 10-storey building near so many homes was “odd” when there were already so many other towers planned for the area.
“With all the development in Box Hill, I am not really surprised by these plans,” he said.
The planning application has been placed before the Whitehorse City Council.
