Thugs on motorbikes used a sledgehammer to smash their way into a Ferntree Gully bottle shop before they fled with high-end alcohol.
Police from the Knox crime investigation unit have released CCTV of a burglary at a business on Ferntree Gully Rd about 2.40am on January 28.
The footage shows a man with a sledgehammer take multiple attempts to smash the store window before he entered the store.
Police believe the man stole several bottles of high-end liquor and attempted to steal packets of cigarettes before he fled the scene on a motorbike.
The motorbike is black with blue trim but appears to have silver tape wrap around identifying features at the front of the bike.
The CCTV also shows another man, on a red ‘monkey’ bike, arrive before the burglary and leave once the man exited the store.
Police have released images of two men they believe may be able to assist with the investigation.
