One-legged bandit Jack Quinlivan fined for stealing sex toy from Chadstone store
A notorious bandit who pilfered a dildo and lubricant from a Chadstone pharmacy said he just “borrowed” the items. It comes after a thieving spree which saw him make off with $20,000 in jewellery from an Eastland store.

A one-legged bandit says he had just “borrowed” a dildo he pilfered from a Chadstone pharmacy.
Jack Quinlivan fronted Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court on September 17 over the $46.97 theft from Chemist Warehouse.
Quinlivan, 28, giggled as the police prosecutor read out the pilfered items, including a vibrator, climax stimulating gel and delay gel.
The court heard Quinlivan had taken the items while he was waiting for a prescription to be filled, but left the store without paying and without his prescription.
His November 2018 crime was captured on CCTV.
During the interview, Quinlivan told police he “borrowed” the items and that he “must have forgotten to pay for them due to post traumatic stress disorder”.
The lower-leg amputee has a criminal history littered with aggravated burglary offences.
He is behind bars for a $20,000 armed holdup at Holdsworth Bros. Jewellers in Eastland where he threatened to shoot staff if they didn’t hand over expensive diamond and emerald rings.
His defence lawyer Emmanuel Brennan said Quinlivan’s crime was “at the lower end of his offending”.
“It occurred two months after … the serious work accident, which led to his (leg being amputated) and was done in the context of his moving slowly towards the margins of society as his injury worsens,” he said.
Magistrate Victorian Campbell fined Quinlivan $100, with conviction and ordered him to pay $84.40 in costs.
“He is a relatively young man who has had significant difficulties from birth, his whole upbringing was dysfunctional,” she said.
“Hopefully he can work off that fine while he’s in custody.”
Quinlivan still has at least nine months to serve behind bars for the jewellery heist.
