Mt Waverley: Alleged drug driver flips car on Sunhill Road

An allegedly drugged up man had his world turned upside down when he slammed into a parked car and flipped the car he was driving.

Sgt Egan said the driver, a 35-year-old Mulgrave man with a disqualified licence, was travelling south on Sunhill Rd, Mt Waverley, about 7.45am on Saturday, February 22 in a Toyota Corolla, when the crash occurred.

Sgt Egan said the Toyota slammed into a Mazda — which was parked on the opposite side of the road — and was sent into the air by the impact.

“It takes a fair bit to tip the car over,” Sgt Egan said.

The driver was the only person involved and was not injured.

Police and the MFB were called to help clear the scene.

Sgt Egan said he the driver was expected to be charged with careless driving, driving while disqualified and driving while impaired by a drug.
