Twins Ana and Lidia will forge their own paths when they start Prep in separate classes at Mt Waverley North Primary School next week.
The girls are eager to start school and forge new interests on top of already developed passions for drawing, painting, animals and gymnastics.
Mum Jenny Thomas, president of the Waverley Multiple Birth Association, said the girls were “super excited”.
“(Putting them in) separate classes is a choice we’ve made because I don’t want them to be thought of as ‘the twins’,” she said.
“They’re two unique individuals and I want them to shine in their own right.”
Mrs Thomas said twins ran in the family.
“My brother had twins too, so he had a similar experience. I know it will always be two of everything,” she said.
Mrs Thomas said the Waverley Multiple Birth Association was a self-help group helped for families in Monash Council area and surrounding suburbs.
