Monkey bike seized in Vermont South after boys ride it in park

While being in lockdown has most finding indoor solutions to stave off boredom, three ratbag teens were busted by police doing exactly the opposite in Vermont South.

Social distancing isn’t going too well for three teenagers caught joy-riding on an illegal monkey bike at 1.30pm on Monday.

Police found the 17 year olds taking turns riding the unroadworthy motorbike around a park in Vermont South yesterday.

Nunawading highway patrol Acting Sergeant Jordan Brown said officers went to Licola Park after being called by a worried resident.

The teens’ fun quickly came to an end, with police impounding for 30 days.

Act Sgt Brown said the motorcycle was not registered and wouldn’t have been able to qualify for registration.

He said the three boys were charged with unlicensed driving and driving an unregistered motor vehicle.
