A homeowner stopped a brazen daylight burglar in their tracks after he heard someone opening his Doncaster East garage at 4pm.

Three unknown offenders drove to the Greendale Rd home on August 8 in a black SUV, parking in the driveway before one, who was armed with a knife, got out and opened an unlocked garage door.

He gained access to an unlocked Nissan Dualis and was rifling through the car’s contents when he was disturbed by the homeowner.

The 31-year-old yelled at the offender who threatened him with the knife before the trio fled in the SUV.
Nunawading police Sergeant Simon Webb said it was a reminder to keep garages, cars and other doors locked at all times.

He said anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers.
