Manningham police raid crop houses in four suburbs as part of Operation Connector

Police have raided crop houses in four Manningham suburbs as part of an ongoing operation, with more than 100 cannabis plants and dried cannabis seized. See if any of the houses are near you.

Detectives have raided five houses filled with cannabis plants and made two separate arrests as part of an ongoing operation by Manningham police.

Manningham detective Senior Sergeant Rohan Courtis said the raids were carried out at homes in Doncaster, Doncaster East, Templestowe and Lower Templestowe as part of Operation Connector.

Sen-Sgt Courtis said the first raid was at a home in Telford St, Doncaster, on May 9 with seven mature plants and a hydroponic set-up found.

Police then raided homes in Tracey St, Doncaster East, on June 11 and Glenair St, Templestowe on June 12.

Sen-Sgt Courtis said 13kg of dried cannabis was seized from the Doncaster East house.

A 57-year-old Rowville man who was at the property at the time was arrested.

The following day, officers seized 15kg of dried cannabis and 22 large mature plants from the Lower Templestowe home and arrested a 29-year-old man who lived there.

The final raids took place on June 19 with 100 cannabis plants seized from two neighbouring houses in Porter St, Templestowe.

Sen-Sgt Courtis said the Rowville man arrested in the Doncaster East raid was charged with drug offences and bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court at a later date.

He said the man arrested in the Lower Templestowe raid was charged with drug offences, theft and handling proceeds of crime and bailed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on September 7.

Sen-Sgt Courtis said no one was inside the homes at the time of Doncaster and Templestowe raids and police were continuing their investigations.

“Manningham police are committed to dismantling, disrupting and holding offenders accountable for engaging in commercial operations related to drugs,” he said.

“We encourage the public to be vigilant around local areas and look out for suspicious activities.”
