Man arrested at Rosebud campground after allegedly jumping into Doncaster apartment with fire crackers and drugs

A man who allegedly had drugs and fire crackers on him when he climbed into a Doncaster apartment has faced court after he was arrested far away at a popular holiday spot.

A man has faced court after he allegedly jumped into a Doncaster apartment with fire crackers and drugs and forced the residents to flee.

Manningham detectives arrested a 31-year-old Queensland man at a Rosebud camping ground yesterday following the early-morning incident on April 15.

The man faced Melbourne Magistrates’ Court last night after he allegedly climbed onto the balcony of the apartment in Frederick St and entered the bedroom at 2am.

Two women were inside, noticed the man and fled the apartment.

Manningham detective Acting Sergeant Paul O’Brien said the two women were unharmed in the incident despite the man allegedly having fire crackers and quantities of ice and cannabis on him.

Detectives charged the man with aggravated burglary, possessing explosives and three counts of drug possession.

The man has been remanded to face court again on the charges at a later date.
