An elderly driver has smashed through a fence in Lower Templestowe near a Aldi supermarket, almost hitting several townhouses.

A group of Lower Templestowe neighbours have had a fright after a car smashed through a fence and came within inches of hitting their homes.
Police and firefighters rushed to the crash scene near Macedon Village shopping centre at 4.45pm Wednesday.
The car, a silver Honda Jazz, was in the carpark of the suburb’s Aldi supermarket and drove through a fence protecting a group of townhouses.
No one was injured in the smash, and the car is being towed from the scene.
Doncaster police Acting Sergeant Claire Reardon said an elderly local man was driving the car and was uninjured in the crash.
The man’s car has been towed from the scene and Acting Sgt Reardon said police would further investigate the cause of the incident.
