Popular women’s fashion brand Sportsgirl is among a group of new retailers heading to a shopping centre in Whitehorse.

The ever-evolving Forest Hill Chase is preparing to add a series of tenants to its collection of more than 200 before Christmas, while several of its existing shops get a revamp.

The shops are on the way to the centre after it has just welcomed hairdressing service Classic Barber on level 1 and bookstore and art supplier Suddenly Books on level 2.

Classic Barber, which can be found next to the food court, specialises in men’s hairstyles, beard grooming, hot razor shaves and facial services, while Suddenly Books offers a huge selection of books, art supplies, puzzles and games.

Australian fashion chain Sportsgirl is also set to open on Level 2 in the coming weeks, in the former home of TerryWhite Chemart.

The new clothing shop is joining the centre as it seeks to expand its fashion offerings for young people, with Cotton On having opened late last year and TK Maxx in March.

The shopping spot is also about to get even more beauty and wellness services, with a Beauty Genesis franchise scheduled to open on Level 2 in November.

The store will offer all things beauty, including facials, micro-dermabrasions, oxy-micro and light therapy, eyelash extensions, eyelash tinting and tattooing, nails and pedicures, full body waxing and spray tanning.

And at the same time the centre is set to become a destination for flotation therapy, with longtime Forest Hill Chase retailer Max Therapy converting into a Luxe Therapy franchise.

Luxe Therapy, which already has stories in Chadstone, Melbourne Central and Werribee, offers the same massage and physio therapy Max Therapy as does, with the added bonus of flotation therapy in private bathing rooms.

Forest Hill Chase customers will also shortly be able to enjoy revamped OPSM and Aldi stores.

The long-time retailers are getting a refresh, with the new OPSM store expected to open this week and Aldi at the end of October.

The changes to the shopping centre, which is one of Melbourne’s oldest, come as it also undertakes a revamp of its Level 1 food court.
The upgrade is set to be complete later this year and follows the centre introducing a new dining precinct The Loft on Level 3 at the end of 2018.
