A driver has died after their car veered from the road and crashed into a tree in Oakleigh East.
Police believe the car was travelling along the Princes Highway near Dublin St just after 7am Tuesday when it veered off the road and crashed into a tree.
The yet to be formally identified driver and sole occupant of the car died at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be determined at this stage.
All outbound lanes of the Princes Highway, Oakleigh East are closed between Huntingdale Rd and Clayton Rd.
Motorists are asked to follow the direction of emergency services and to allow extra time for the detours via Ferntree Gully Rd or North Rd.
