A drug addict who trafficked in illegal substances to feed his habit has been sentenced to at least two and a half years in jail.
According to court documents, Doncaster man Frankie Zhang pleaded guilty to one charge of trafficking a drug of dependence between October 25, 2016, and May 29, 2017.
The drugs he trafficked included methylamphetamine and heroin.

He also pleaded guilty to weapons charges when he appeared in the County Court on April 3 this year.
Zhang was arrested on May 29, 2017, with 55 grams of ice and five grams of heroin in his possession.
In a subsequent search of his Doncaster home police found about 400 grams of illegal drugs, cash, weapons, and drug paraphernalia. He was remanded in custody.
The court documents state Zhang started using cannabis when he was about 14, eventually being expelled from school when he was in year 8, and becoming addicted to heroin and methamphetamine within two years.
He’s never held a job, trafficking in drugs to feed his own addictions.
According to a report provided to the court by a clinical psychologist, Zhang is likely to have an anti-social personality disorder related to his drug use and is at risk of being institutionalised.
In sentencing, Judge Frank Gucciardo said drug trafficking was “an insidious and pernicious trade”.
“The impact of drug trafficking on the community is enormous. It is a repulsive trade with high moral culpability which requires planning, often using sophisticated arrangements and tools,” he said.
Mr Gucciardo took into account Zhang completing courses while in custody, including managing an ice addiction and the physical effects of the drug.
Zhang was sentenced to a maximum of three years and nine months with a non-parole period of two and a half years.
