Covid Victorian Schools: Templestowe Valley PS reopens despite high cases

A Manningham school linked to Victoria’s biggest cluster of Covid-19 active cases has reopened.
Templestowe Valley Primary School had been closed since the start of the month after it first became linked to an outbreak of the virus on November 30.
The Lower Templestowe school closed initially for 24 hours but then extended its shutdown as more cases in the school community were confirmed.
According to the Department of Education, the school had completed appropriate cleaning measures and only those who had produced a negative test could return on Wednesday.
According to DHHS data, the number of active cases linked to the school had dropped by four from 71 on Tuesday to 67 cases.
It is unclear how many staff or students have been infected.
The next most affected schools in Victoria are in Caroline Springs, with 44 cases each linked to Christ the Priest Primary School and Springside Primary School.
Another school in the suburb, Brookside P-9 College, is also in the top five with 30 linked cases.
Manningham had 24 new cases of Covid-19 as of noon on Wednesday, with 336 active cases in the municipality.
