A 23-year-old Burwood man is in a serious condition in hospital after his car was hit by an alleged drink driver in Nunawading last night.
The crash ripped apart both men’s cars and sent one through the fence of a nearby property, leaving car parts and fence palings strewn across Springvale Rd.

Police said a 29-year-old Forest Hill man was allegedly driving his black Holden ute south along Springvale Rd when it crashed into the back of a silver hatchback being driven by the Burwood man at 7.30pm.
The impact of the smash sent the hatchback through a timber fence.
Paramedics freed the Burwood man from the crushed hatchback before taking him to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with serious injuries.
The Forest Hill man was not injured.
Nunawading highway patrol Acting Senior Sergeant Ben Howie said the Forest Hill man was arrested at the scene for dangerous driving causing serious injury.
He allegedly returned an blood alcohol reading of .107 per cent — more than twice the legal limit — after being taken to the police station.
Acting Sen-Sgt Howie said the man had been released pending further investigation into the crash.
He said police understood the Burwood man was in a serious but stable condition in hospital.
