An IVF clinic has opened in the centre of Box Hill, courtesy of six doctors determined to offer the best fertility services in the most convenient way.

The specialist fertility centre, Newlife IVF, is one of Melbourne’s only independent IVF clinics, and has been specially designed by the doctors who run it.

It offers all the stages of IVF in one place — testing, investigations, surgery and treatments — so patients can complete the entire process in one setting, and there’s no moving embryos about.

To offer the all-in-one service, the team of fertility specialists have teamed up with Epworth Eastern, who run the centre’s in-house procedure room and recovery space, while Newlife IVF manages the clinic and laboratory.

Newlife IVF medical director Dr Nicole Hope said the clinic had “been able to get the best of both worlds”, with a team of experienced scientists, nursing staff and doctors working in an independent setting.

She said the clinic being owned and run by the doctors meant all decisions were made by the people actually interacting with patients and staff.

“We have carefully designed every aspect of our practice with our patients’ needs in mind,” she said.

The clinic has been built at 116-118 Thames St, Box Hill.

Dr Hope said the doctors were aiming to provide a much more personalised experience than patients could receive elsewhere.

“Patients can expect to be well supported during their fertility treatment.”

Epworth Eastern executive director Louise O’Connor said Epworth’s experienced hospital staff shared the clinic’s commitment to delivering the best experience for patients, which would be largely helped by their expertise in women’s and men’s health.

“IVF is difficult for anyone to go through,” she said.

“We are committed to provide that more personalised, boutique service.”

Dr Hope said Newlife IVF’s lack of shareholders and overhead staff also meant it was able to provide the most up-to-date, state-of-the-art technology for a lower cost.

“We’ve been able to reduce the price significantly,” she said.

On its website, Newlife IVF said it was committed to affordable fees, in line with its belief that fertility treatments, including IVF, should be reasonably priced and accessible to all.

Newlife IVF kicked off procedures when it opened on October 28.

Dr Hope said the doctors had received a lot of interest in Newlife IVF even before the clinic was up and running, with patients signing up from all over Melbourne.

She said the doctors who owned the clinic, Dr Hugo Fernandes, Associate Professor Martin Healey, Dr Sameer Jatkar, Dr Tiki Osianlis and Dr Chris Russell, and herself, each had their own medical practices across Melbourne.

The doctors are able to consult with Newlife IVF patients at these various locations, which include Richmond and East Melbourne, before the patients receive treatment in Box Hill.

Newlife IVF is located at Suite 3, 116-118 Thames St.
