A prime Ashwood site opposite Holmesglen train station could be transformed by a 12 level development, including offices, apartments and a hotel.

Selling agents Stonebridge Property Group and Cushman & Wakefield Melbco Development Sites have listed 615 Warrigal Rd for sale via international expressions of interest.

According to the real estate listing, a permit approved for the site allows for a mixed-use development including offices, a residential hotel, serviced apartments, dwellings and retail premises up to 12 levels.

The 87,070sq m site is currently home to a number of low level offices, and is next to a high-rise apartment complex.

The site is also opposite Holmesglen TAFE and 1.5km from Chadstone Shopping Centre.

Monash councillors granted a building permit for the site in 2021, for the construction of buildings up to 10 storeys in height, and works allowing a proposed $135m mixed use development, despite 144 objections from the community.

Monash Mayor Cr Nicky Luo said the planning permit allowed for offices, a residential hotel, serviced apartments, residential dwellings and retail premises.

Cr Luo said approved buildings on the land reach up to 10 storeys in height.

“The permit remains valid, but the applicant has not yet finalised their drawings in response to the permit conditions.”
