A 79-year-old woman has been flown to hospital with serious injuries after a house fire at Pakenham.

A woman has been flown to hospital with serious injuries after a fire broke out at a home Pakenham.
Emergency services were called to a property on Hawk Ave about 8.30am Thursday.
A police spokesman said the woman, 79, was inside the home at the time of the fire.
“The house sustained significant damage in the blaze,” the spokesman said.
An FRV spokeswoman said crews, assisted by CFA, arrived on scene within six minutes to find the single-storey brick dwelling fully involved in fire.

“The incident was deemed under control at 9am, however crews will remain on scene for some time to ensure the area is safe,” the spokeswoman said.
A community warning was also issued for the area.
The circumstances surrounding the blaze are yet to be determined and is not being treated as suspicious.
