Accused Burwood sex offender Callum Du Ve charged with three counts of rape

A Burwood man accused of multiple rapes which allegedly occurred at Abbotsford had his bail extended until his next court date.

A Burwood man has fronted court after he was charged multiple sex crimes including raping a female at Abbotsford.

Callum Du Ve, 24, fronted Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Friday after he was charged with three counts of rape

Du Ve allegedly raped a female multiple times in late-2020.

Police alleged Du Ve sexually penetrated a victim without her consent and he did not “reasonably” believe the victim consented to the penetration.

The alleged offending is said to have occurred in Abbotsford.

Du Ve, represented in court by Penny Marcou, was charged by Box Hill SOCIT investigators on November 26 this year.

Daniel White appeared for the prosecution.

Du Ve, who appeared via virtual link, didn’t speak during the brief filing hearing before Magistrate Johanna Metcalfe.

Du Ve, of Burwood, had his bail extended to face court again at a later date.
