A Melbourne motorist has shared footage of the moment he narrowly avoided a serious head-on collision with a white SUV.

A Melbourne man has shared dramatic dashcam footage showing the split second he had to avoid an oncoming motorist who overtook a truck and almost caused a serious head-on collision.

Stephen Barrand shared the footage in a Gisborne Community Facebook page that showed him travelling on a narrow road northwest of Melbourne when a white SUV overtook a truck, forcing him to take evasive action and move to the left of the road to avoid a collision.

“Heading to work just out of Gisborne on the Melton Rd and came across this guy. Please look after yourselves on the roads! Your family will thank you for it..!,” Mr Barrand said in the post.
