County Court: Meth addict Victor Youssef in court for sexually assaulting septuagenarian

A meth addict propositioned a 79-year-old woman for sex in exchange for a gold watch before groping her while she slept.

Meth addict Victor Youssef groped an elderly woman while she was asleep in her bedroom.

A meth addict who forced his way into the bedroom of a 79-year-old in the dead of night had months earlier propositioned her for sex by offering the woman a gold watch.

Victor Youssef’s actions were directly related to his meth use as well as his mental illness which became apparent after he injured his knee at work and went on disability support.

The 64-year-old earlier pleaded guilty to a charge of aggravated burglary and appeared in the County Court on Monday where he was sentenced to nine months’ jail

However, he was released on a community corrections order given he had served almost a year on remand.

The court heard that at 1.32am on October 10, last year, Youssef forcibly entered the woman’s house with the intention to assault her.

She twice thought she felt two fingers moving softly across the skin of her left thigh.

The woman neither woke up nor felt the presence of anyone else in her bed.

Youssef removed his pants before he ran out of the house.

She realised she’d been assaulted after she discovered her rear entry door open when she woke up in the morning. The woman then contacted police.

Youssef was identified as a suspect from the CCTV footage from her house and he was found in possession of two syringes and a glass pipe used to smoke meth.

He denied committing the offence.

When shown a CCTV image of the suspect and asked if it was him, Youssef said, “Maybe. It’s … I haven’t got a clue. Maybe yes, maybe no”.

He denied using alcohol, drugs, or medication around the date in question.

Prosecution has agreed there was evidence that when Youssef used meth, he became psychotic and behaved in an aberrant manner.
