The Christmas spirit is well and truly alive in Melbourne’s east, with thousands turning out on a perfect summer’s night at Manningham’s Christmas Carols.

Former The Voice winner Chris Sebastian headlined the event, which also featured heaps of local talent and finished with a massive fireworks display.

The event drew plenty of locals as well as carols lovers from as far as Frankston, Geelong and Thomastown.

Many families and school friends gathered on the hill at Ruffey Lake Park and enjoyed the festive tunes, while others got into the face painting and children's activities, and got some tasty snacks from the food trucks.
