A Mount Pleasant man has been accused of breaching his bail after allegedly being found with multiple tasers, a machete, and a trafficable amount of meth.
Zachery Taylor-Pring, 28, applied for bail at Ballarat Magistrates’ Court on Monday charged with trafficking meth and possessing weapons.
The court heard that on June 25, Mr Taylor-Pring was allegedly found unconscious in a stolen car that had collided with a park bench in front of Woolworths in Sebastopol.
Police allegedly saw drugs in the car’s passenger seat, so officers put stop sticks under the two front tyres.
When Mr Taylor-Pring woke up, he saw police and allegedly reversed over the stop sticks, deflating both tyres while revving “the entire time”.
Officers smashed his passenger window, unlocked doors, and arrested him.
They allegedly found meth, 1,4-butanediol, a homemade taser, a high-powered laser, and valium.
Mr Taylor-Pring, who allegedly did not hold a driver’s licence, was charged and bailed.
But on July 28, he was allegedly caught sleeping in an illegally-parked car in Mount Pleasant with a taser at his feet.
A search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered two tasers, a machete, a bum bag with 9g of meth, “deal bags” and scales, a vial of GHB, and a gold vape.
Police also seized $900 in cash, which Mr Taylor-Pring said was from Centrelink and successes at the pokies in Melton.
He was charged with possessing and trafficking meth, possessing a prohibited weapon and controlled weapon, possessing GHB and ammunition, and breaching bail.
Magistrate Letizia Torres denied bail on Monday.
Mr Taylor-Pring will return to court at a later date.
